BREAKING | Young mother murdered in PE home

A young Port Elizabeth mother was found murdered in her Shabani Road home in Brymore on Wednesday afternoon.
The 26-year-old was at home with her one-month-old baby at the time of the attack.
The baby was unharmed.
Police are currently on the scene.
According to police, the woman was murdered during a suspected house robbery.
The woman's fiancé arrived home during the attack and scuffled with the attacker who managed to flee the scene.
The distraught fiancé said: “I can’t believe such a perfect little person could be taken away like this.”
Police spokesman Captain Johan Rheeder said the young mother was in the house with her domestic worker when the robber entered the house.
“The domestic worker was busy cleaning the bathroom when she heard screaming inside the house. She went to the door to get out of the bathroom and found that it was locked,” he said.
“Shortly afterwards the woman's 33-year-old fiancé arrived home. He confronted the suspect in the bedroom which led to a scuffle.”
Rheeder said the suspect managed to escape and fled over the back boundary wall into the Baakens River Valley area.
Police Provincial Commissioner, Lieutenant general Liziwe Ntshinga expressed her shock at the brutal killing of the young mother and indicated that an extensive search for the suspect is currently being done.
"We have video footage and an apt description of the suspect. We appeal to the community to assist us in tracing this suspect and to report any suspicious person to the police." She said.
"We guarantee that every information will be followed up. We cannot allow ruthless criminals to enter our premises and attack innocent people. They must be arrested and placed behind prison bars. We extend our condolences to the family of this young mother and assure the community that we will do everything in our power to apprehend the perpetrator." Ntshinga said.
The woman was found dead in the bedroom.
According to police, she had been stabbed in the neck before her fiancé arrived home. Police are still searching the area for the suspect.
