Three held over false permits


Three men accused of printing false permits and passports for illegal immigrants appeared in the Kirkwood Magistrate’s Court on Monday.
Shegiru Inu, 35, Heinrich Booysen, 22, and Godfrey Chimutashu, 29, are accused of printing false work and study permits, as well as passports, in the Addo and Kirkwood areas.
Police spokesperson Captain Gerda Swart said that Inu and Chimutashu would remain in custody.
Booysen was released on bail by the court.
The suspects were arrested at their homes in the Kirkwood and Addo areas.
Three cases of falsifying of documents and fraud were opened and all the equipment, including laptops, cellphones, printers, scanners and cameras, worth more than R30,000, was confiscated.
