A“pure evil” file that appeared briefly on an obscure online meeting place for paedophiles – whose fetishes are the rape, torture and murder of newborns and babies still in nappies – was the downfall of a Plettenberg Bay computer engineer.

The 37-year-old man, who believed he was safe after encrypting and deleting all the files, videos and photographs that could incriminate him – barring a horrific “rape and kill” file he thought no one knew about – was arrested at his mother’s house in Plett on Tuesday morning.

He was still sound asleep when the international task team pounced.
