Butchery robbed twice in two weeks

Three gunmen robbed the SamFer Butchery in Botha Street, Despatch, during a daylight afternoon robbery on Tuesday.
This is the second robbery at the same butchery in less than 2 weeks.
Tuesday’s incident happened at 1:30pm when three men entered the SamFer Butchery, formerly known as the Karoo Ochse, while holding two shop assistants at gunpoint.
Police spokesman Sergeant Majola Nkohli said that one robber held two store assistants at gunpoint while the other two robbers ransacked the butchery.
“The suspects stole an undisclosed amount of cash before fleeing in a white or beige Corsa with Gauteng registration number plates,” he said.
Nkohli said that the modus operandi was similar to the last robbery on Monday 25 June.
Asked if it is thought to be the same robbers, Nkohli said that it was being investigated.
On June 25, four gunmen entered the shop and also ransacking the butchery. They fled in a Quantum minibus.
Nkohli said that no arrests have been made in either robberies.
Anyone with information is urged to contact investigating officer, Warrant Officer Wouter Verwey at 084 846 2273.
Two cases of armed robbery are under investigation.
