A 24-year-old Motherwell resident was arrested for drunk driving and possession of a stolen vehicle on Monday (21/08/2017).

Metro Police Chief Yolande Faro said that the car was spotted driving on Grahamstown Road and the driver pulled over.

The vehicle was later found to have been reported stolen in Humewood in August.

“The vehicle did not have front number plate and the rear number plate belonged to another vehicle. The licence disc did also not correspond with the vehicle chassis number and the number plate,” she added.

Faro said that more charges would be added as the stolen car was fitted with stolen number plates as well.

The driver is also out on bail for breaking into a car in Kinkelbos.

The man is due to appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrates Court on Wednesday.
