Disgraced lawyer gets four years behind bars

Lawyer Michael Randell has been sentenced to an effective four years in prison for defrauding Greenwood Primary School out of more than R2.5-million while serving on its governing body.
Magistrate Khamdilizine Nqadala said Randell showed a complete lack of remorse throughout trial, and even after his conviction.
Nqadala sentenced him to six years in prison, two of which were suspended.
Randell's advanced age and humanitarian work was also taken into account.
