Bay One Direction fans traumatised as flight to Cape Town delayed

THERE were tears and tantrums at the Port Elizabeth Airport yesterday when scores of excited fans of touring boy band sensation One Direction were told their flight to Cape Town had been cancelled.

Shrieks of disbelief, anger and dismay followed the announcement that the 7.30am Fly Safair flight had to be canned after a mid-flight cabin pressure incident en route to Port Elizabeth.

Many of the waiting passengers first thought the cancellation of the flight was an April Fool’s joke.

Some 160 people, predominantly One Direction concert-goers, were booked on the flight.
