FURIOUS parents from Port Elizabeth have lashed out against a bus company whose vehicles were forced to stop numerous times on their way to national hockey tournaments in KwaZulu-Natal over the past two weekends.

Eastern Province Hockey used Van Rensburg Tours to transport their U18 and U16 sides to Pietermaritzburg and Durban respectively.

The U18 team left on June 28 for last week's tournament, returning yesterday, while the U16s left this past Sunday morning and only arrived late in the evening.

A concerned parent of an U18 player was furious that her son spent more than 20 hours on the road, twice as long as the trip should have taken. - Riaan Marais
