THE DA in Nelson Mandela Bay has opted for a young candidate and an experienced one in its bid to retain control of two wards – in Seaview and the northern areas – in upcoming by-elections.

The DA announced its candidates for the two wards this week, while the ANC will hold branch meetings next week to nominate its candidates.

The UDM had planned to hold a meeting last night to finalise its decisions, and COPE said it would hold a meeting today to decide if it would field candidates in the by-elections.

EFF regional convener Mbuyiselo Madaka said the party would make a decision on participation by Saturday.
