Murder accused to plead guilty

ONE of three people accused of murdering 26-year-old Clyde Byrns during a botched mugging in Central last year has indicated she will plead guilty.

Sithembele Jonas, 28, Donovan Swartz, 22, and Angelina Job, 24, appeared briefly in the Port Elizabeth Regional Court yesterday, and the matter was postponed to May 19 for Job to enter a formal plea.

She and her two co-accused allegedly stabbed Byrns, of Kamma Park, to death in Rink Street, Central, on July 7, after he tried to help his girlfriend when her handbag was snatched. – Kathryn Kimberley
