Tycoon quits Bay after court battle

FLAMBOYANT businessman and property developer Ben Nyaumwe packed up and left Nelson Mandela Bay yesterday after losing the final leg of his drawn out legal battle in the Port Elizabeth High Court.

But the intrepid entrepreneur warned his sceptics while boarding a plane to Durban that he would be back in the Bay with a bang.

"Port Elizabeth can't move forward if it doesn't stand behind people who take a risk and take a chance on Port Elizabeth. I will miss PE and the good friends I made and the many people who supported me. I guarantee any sceptic that I will be back and with an even bigger bang," Nyaumwe said.

He was not in court when Judge Dayalin Chetty ordered the final sequestration of his assets following a lengthy legal wrangle with Absa.
