Gala event for Exporter of the Year awards

Winners in the Exporter of the Year awards for 2018 will soon be announced by Exporters Eastern Cape at its gala event – now a highlight on the region’s business calendar.
The annual awards – in their 23rd year – recognise the achievements of exporters and service providers to the export industry.
Exporters Eastern Cape chair Quintin Levey said the importance of acknowledging these champions of industry should not be underestimated.
Exporters Eastern Cape is a non profit organisation for companies involved in exporting, directly or indirectly, or for companies with an interest in exporting.
Exporters Eastern Cape encourages firms to prepare to take on the challenge of exporting and to help existing exporters become more globally competitive.
Its membership represents a broad spectrum of sectors and professions – large and smaller export companies, freight forwarders, financial institutions and shipping lines.
Only Exporters Eastern Cape members are eligible for the awards. Winners will be announced in these categories:
● SJM Flex Environmental Award;
● IDC Job Creation Award;
● Best Provider of Services to Exporters;
● Best Exporter: Small Business;
● Best Exporter: Medium Enterprises;
● Best Exporter: Corporate Category; and
● Best Exporter: OEM.
The independent panel of judges includes Dr Randal Jonas (Nelson Mandela Business School), Justin Ries (FNB), Hoosain Mahomed (AIDC), Jane Stevenson (Magnetic Storm), Kingsley Dell-Robinson (IDC), Prince Matonsi (NMBBC), and Levey.
The gala event is sponsored by Transnet (Platinum), VWSA and FNB (Gold Sponsors), as well as SJM Flex, the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC), and Magnetic Storm (Silver Sponsors).
Media sponsors for the awards are The Herald and Kingfisher FM.
This year the awards evening will take place on Friday August 17 at the Sun Boardwalk.
