Letter: Will US elect Jewish leader?

THE political drama in the US, South Africa and Britain is enriched by the vocal, influential and religious community of immigrants. In Britain two men born Jews – Benjamin Disraeli and Ed Miliband – entered the democratic contest to be prime minister, except that the Labour Party of Miliband was shunned by voters last year.

In the US the protestant majority has never elected a Jewish president. The US Democratic Party national convention has a responsibility of making a choice between Hillary Clinton and Bernie Sanders, a Jewish leftist.
