Unhappy with treatment by Walmer Link owners

IN reply to the In my View by Anthony Thamsanqa Ngcezula on the Walmer Link protest ("Sinister motives behind protest", July 9), we as the majority anti-protesting tenants of Walmer Link are unhappy with some of the statements made by the chief executive officer. We are aware of the situation with illegal/fraudulent tenants occupying units within the Link and we do agree that it is unfair towards us legal tenants.

But why should more then 330 tenants be inconvenienced by a few defaulters?

Eight visitors' parking bays were created for more than 340 tenants without consulting any of the tenants.

Protesters from Walmer Link were not the cause of other tenants wanting to move over to Fairview Link, but this was caused by the recent flare-up from Walmer Township residents with regard to the electricity connections. When these protests happen, there is no optional exit/entrance for us as Walmer Link tenants as Victoria Drive is closed.

This results in us losing a day's work/wages.

The management and staff of Imizi have the preconceived notion that we as tenants, being of a lower income earning bracket, are illiterate and uninformed. We are disrespected and are looked down upon.

When we as tenants are late with rental payments we are visited by Imizi staff which we are not happy with. The management of Imizi refuses to take in account our country's current volatile economic situation where we as tenants are barely making ends meet.

It has become unpleasant to stay within the Link due to the unprofessional manner in which Imizi is treating its tenants. The vanity of Imizi management is yet to be its downfall.
