Last chance for ANC to 'reboot'

I THINK a lot of other concerned citizens will agree with me when I say that the political scenario of South Africa resembles computer circuitry that needs continuously to refresh. This is the last refresh for the ANC government, it has to boot up and implement the promises it has laid in front of its constituency.

The president of the country has said nothing new that we didn't expect. He never gave specific details on how the government will implement the mandates he set forth.

When a computer takes longer than a minute to open a page, a common thing to do is to refresh and/or to restart the computer. If it fails to load the application again, it is either the page/file is corrupt or malfunctioning. A simple diagnostic tool is to remove the application from the system.

I hope that won't be the fate with the ANC official candidates, who have diligently paraded the streets campaigning to bring a better life to the destitute citizens for 20 years.

We hope the president's smile when presenting the state of the nation address was a sign of a better life for all, not only for the significant few who are also looking forward to build their own Nkandlas. This is the last chance for the ANC to deliver on its promises or lose the nation to the ever-optimistic opposition parties.

The ruling party owes the people of this country, especially the youth a complete education system with no discrepancies, that inspires collective creativity which will eventually empower the pupil, free access to medication for the poor citizens, and a chance to acquire skills and training in order to acquire and create job opportunities for themselves in all the industries.
