Museum should be a tourist drawcard

WE have quite a few international guests staying with us who are attending a conference at The Boardwalk and all of them are keen to learn more about our area. One group were disappointed as they wanted to visit the Red Location Museum, but we had to explain that it was closed.

Another tour operator had to change his planned tour of the city centre because of the Numsa strike. Close by, the casino was robbed in broad daylight!

Luckily the guests were unaware of these happenings as they all enjoyed a trip to the Addo Elephant National Park – hopefully the potholes on the road have been fixed!

Organisers work tirelessly to bring events to our city and the need to showcase our city in the best light possible is imperative. The Red Location Museum should be a big drawcard to attract visitors.

Most tourists want to see the history of the city and anything to do with Nelson Mandela.
