The oldest sex abuse case to go to trial in SA may now finally proceed after the men accused of assaulting two sisters — one of whom now lives in Gqeberha — failed in their bid to have the charge sheet amended.

The alleged offences occurred between 1974 and 1979, but Lisa van der Merwe, of Sherwood, and her sister Claudine Shiels, who were children at the time, only reported them to the police 39 years later...
