WATCH | Shark caught near Maitland Beach

A Johannesburg holidaymaker watched in “delight” on Saturday as a shark was caught and later released near Maitland Beach outside Port Elizabeth.
Dylan Mark, who is headed back home on Sunday after spending a week holidaying in Seaview, was on his morning walk and was just in time to see - and record - a bronze whaler shark, also known as a copper shark being reeled in about 2km west of Maitland.
“The fisherman said it was a one and a half hour fight,” he said.
“The fish was caught, measured and safely released much to the delight of the onlookers. A NSRI helicopter hovered around as well to watch the action.”
Mark has been taking morning walks along the beach with his wife, Melissa, just about every day and spending as much time as possible enjoying the ocean.
“Today Mother Nature showed off. I saw about 100 dolphins,” he said about Saturday.
