Serial rapist convicted of more than 30 counts

Serial rapist Mzikayise Mkavu was convicted of more than 30 counts in the Port Elizabeth High Court on Tuesday.
The 27-year-old pleaded guilty to 17 counts of rape, as well as various counts of assault with intent to do grievous bodily harm, robbery with aggravated circumstances and attempted murder.
The charges against Mkavu date back to 2008.
The defence indicated it will not call any witnesses in mitigation of sentence.
