WATCH: Webb smokes rivals at Aldo Scribante event

Two-time national drifting champion Jason Webb had Nelson Mandela Bay fans cheering loudly when he clinched the fourth round of the SupaDrift Series at Aldo Scribante at the weekend.

Crowd favourite Webb, in the Monster Energy Mustang, smoked his opponents to take the top step after a nail-biting final showdown with Gavin Puren in his Lil Rich Transport Toyota Soarer, while the new championship leader Jim McFarlane claimed third place in his Achilles Tyres Nissan 350z.

The win moves Webb into fourth place in the championship standings with 301 points, while McFarlane takes over the championship lead with 366 points, followed closely by 2016 champion Paolo Gouveia on 348 points and Eric van Eyssen in third on 307 points.

Speaking after the race, Webb hailed the work put in by his crew in preparation for the weekend’s action.

“PE is one of my favourite tracks on the series calendar and for us to come out here and clinch this victory is something special,” a relieved Webb said.
