New hospital to finally go ahead

OUTGOING Health MEC Sicelo Gqobana has ordered that plans for a new private hospital in Circular Drive in Fairview, Port Elizabeth, go ahead, saying it would serve no purpose for the Health Department to further fight the matter in court.
This comes after six years of legal wrangling finally ended in the Constitutional Court.
"After the judgment by the Constitutional Court was handed down, I took a decision that there was nothing more we could do. We must just implement the judgment," Gqobana said. - Estelle Ellis
