Man held for 'rape' of boys

ANGRY residents demonstrated outside the New Brighton Magistrate's Court yesterday over the alleged rape of eight young boys by a middle-aged man who befriended and cooked meals for children in his neighbourhood.

The young boys – aged between six and eight years who live in Tambo Street, Masangwana township – were allegedly sodomised by a 53-year-old suspect who was arrested on Saturday after he was saved by the police from an angry crowd.

The protesters also demanded that a parent of one of the victims arrested on charges of assault be released and threatened to kill the rape suspect if he was released on bail. - Yoliswa Sobuwa
