Tributes paid to Lee after many years in politics

FOLLOWING more than 30 years at the coalface of South African opposition politics, prominent South African politician and former DA MP Donald Lee was bid a fond and sometimes emotional farewell at a function in his honour in Port Elizabeth's northern areas yesterday. Held at the Bethelsdorp Community Hall, decorated in the DA colours, the event was attended by a number of prominent current and past DA politicians and included Tertius Delport, James Selfe, Donald Smiles, Watty Watson and Elza van Lingen. Family members, friends, other former colleagues and associates were also there. - Shaun Gillham
