Petrol price to rise 36c/l on March 5

The petrol price is to rise by 36c/l on March 5‚ the Department of Energy announced on Friday (28/02/2014).

The 0.05% sulphur grade of diesel will go up by 27.2c/l while the 0.005% grade will cost 28.2c/l more. Wholesale illuminating paraffin will go up by 16c/l.

The department said the average rand/US dollar exchange rate from December 31 2014 to February 27 2014 was R11.0054‚ compared to R10.8105 during the previous period.

The price in Gauteng for 95 grade petrol rises to R14.32 a litre‚ while it is R13.95 at the coast. - Bdlive
