Skinnerbek: BEEs get Cubana buzzing

Mans departs like mouse

IT is that time of the year when people are dragging their feet to go out because of the big holes in their pockets left by the December shenanigans.

No-one wants to go out and dance the whole night with one glass!

Anyway I must say things are picking up at Cubana, as on Friday there were an impressive number of people.

It was good to see the December theme of Zi ryt i girls (“Are the girls fine?”) was still very much working for some brothers.

A group of guys who appeared to be BEE types with their shirts and jeans tried to impress a couple of ladies by buying them drinks.

On that note, as more students are pouring in from their holidays – can they please refrain from using registration and text book money for their nightlife.

On Saturday I decided to take a drive to the location for a lekker afternoon braai. I went to the once popular Mans Buy and Braai place in Deal Party and I was shocked when I saw the place was under new owners with a name I don’t remember.

It is funny how owners make so much noise when they are opening these places but get quiet as church mice when they are closing. I mean, we deserve to know.

I also spent some time at Ibhayi Tshisa Nyama in NU2 Motherwell. I had a good time enjoying the kasi vibe with a nice braai.

I was happy too that Chippa United’s chief operations officer Lukhanyo Mzinzi is still a fan of the place. He was with his friends talking about anything from politics to educational matters.

Anyway let’s meet again next week
