'Storierak' app now Android-friendly

NB Publishers' popular "Storierak" app can now be downloaded onto Android devices. This unique Afrikaans app store was launched on iOS in December and has since offered iPad and iPad mini users an exciting variety of Afrikaans children's books aimed at two- to eight- year-olds.

According to digital publisher Nelleke de Jager, NB Publishers received many inquiries from parents about the availability of Storierak on Android. This, together with the fact that the demand for Android devices has doubled locally, made the decision to develop Storierak for Android easy.

Since its launch, Storierak was downloaded more than 3500 times and more than 1200 books have been sold.

Storierak offers an exciting multimedia reading experience for young and old.

• Each story is read by a well-known Afrikaans voice artist;
• Each story contains two games, a memory card and a puzzle;
• Each story can be personalised.

There are 28 titles available on Storierak. New titles and old favourites are added regularly.

Visitors to the Google Play Store can download the app at no cost and receive their first book for free. Prices range between R25 and R120 per title.

The app requires the Jelly Bean (4.1 and up) operating system. The minimum screen size is 1024 x 768 pixels.
