DSG girls excel at athletics event

THE DSG athletics team, comprising 18 girls, excelled at the Sarah Baartman High Schools athletics meeting in Port Elizabeth, collecting a total of 18 medals.

The team picked up nine gold medals, three silver medals and six bronze medals.

Those girls who achieved the best results at last month’s event were:

Toni Rafferty (first in the U14 400m, 800m and 1 500m); Naina Ishitile (first in the U19 100m and 200m); Kendal Rose (first in the U15 800m and 1 500m); Sasha Domnick (first in the U15 3 000m, second in the 1 500m); Caroline Mills (first in the U17 400m); Hannah Rippon (second in the U17 200m, third in the 400m); Storm Christy (second in the U17 shot put); Nicola Hunter (third in the U19 long jump, 400m and 800m); Sanelisiwe Mkhunga (third in the U14 200m); Sally-Anne Allsop (third in the U15 long jump).
