Le Clos aims to repeat butterfly triple at world champs in Russia

Swimming star Chad le Clos is looking to repeat his butterfly triple at the world championships in Kazan, Russia, later this year.

He won the 50m, 100m and 200m butterfly crowns at the world shortcourse (25m laps) championships late last year, but in August he will race in an Olympic-sized 50m pool.

He is the defending 100m and 200m butterfly champion from the previous long-course championships in 2013, but Le Clos has not won the 50m sprint over one lap at a major gala. At least not yet.

The 50m fly was the only event he failed to win at the SA championships last year, finishing second behind South African record-holder Roland Schoeman.
