Showdown looms in race for league title
THE Super League men's champions could be decided tonight when joint-log leaders NMMU and Londt Park clash in a key showdown at Crusaders at 5.30pm.
Londt Park dropped their first match of the league on Tuesday when Saders No2 Dan Schultz showed his experience and touch with a fine 3-2 win over teenager Dewald van Niekerk.
That result, however, made no difference to the standings as champions NMMU and Londt Park are comfortably ahead of the rest, and will go into tonight's game level-pegging on 56 points.
Matches such as NMMU No1 Jason le Roux against Rudi van Niekerk and Kyle Schwarz against the young Dewald should be major highlights of the encounter.
In the women's Super league, the critical match takes place on Tuesday when champions Londt Park face their only rivals, Crusaders, at Westview.
Neither team has dropped a match in the league so far and are locked on 57 points after three rounds.
The No1 clash in this tie will be between Londt Park's Jacqui Ryder and Anlen Murray, which will be a contest to savour.
