Good start to Framesby tour

FRAMESBY made an excellent start to their cricket tour of the Northern Cape at the weekend, thumping Kimberley team Diamantveld by 297 runs.

The stars for Framesby were batsman Anru Emiljo, who hit a fine 118, and bowler Rikus Zaayman, who produced remarkable figures of 8/6 in five overs.

Batting first, Emiljo continued his outstanding form from the Pearson Festival last weekend to help his team reach an impressive 318/7 in 50 overs. He was well supported by Zaayman, who made 46.

Zaayman then led the bowling onslaught as Framesby wasted no time in dismissing the home side for 21 runs.

Framesby, however, can expect some tougher opposition ahead as they will take on Western Cape sides Paarl Gymnasium and Paarl Boys High, who are also touring the Northern Cape.
