Damaged pipe leaking sewage

THE picture, right, taken in Mariners Row, Swartkops, shows the sewerage pipe from Motherwell which burst last Friday. It has been temporarily repaired but is still leaking thousands of litres onto the road.

Sewage is running down the strand into the stormwater drains and the river. How the poor people living there survive the smell I can't imagine, never mind the river pollution.
