Salute premier for stand

I SALUTE the ANC for showing that it is not intimidated by the high profiles of the people arrested for fraud ("Mayor among shock arrests", June 24). I salute Phumulo Masualle, the newly elected premier of the Eastern Cape, for his resolute stance against fraud and corruption.

I salute Zizi Kodwa for the stern warning issued to ANC deployees in general ("'Clueless' comrades put dent in trust", June 23). Premier Masualle has shown that the buck stops with him and deployees everywhere must take note.

No longer will the shoddy leadership and work ethic of deployees be tolerated. The stage is now set for the next phase, the actual elected leadership in branches, regions and so-called zones to face the axe.

We are still awaiting a letter from the PEC regarding the so-called zone in Duncan Village where the corrupt election of officials was reported. The ANC is moving towards the moral high ground which it has occupied and subsequently relinquished over the past years.

The spirits of Oliver Tambo and Rolihlahla Mandela are stirring.

Let frauds everywhere be exposed and dealt with. We have requested that all councillors be fired. We will work very hard to get properly elected, honest ANC councillors re-elected.
