Department shuts down steel company after explosion

Anonymous pictures of Coega Steel employees with burn marks on their hands and faces after an explosion have led to the Eastern Cape employment and labour department issuing the company with a prohibition notice.

The furnace explosion, during the night shift on August 22, was allegedly not reported to the department and work carried on as usual the next day...
