Walmer club elects new committee

A new committee has been elected for The Walmer Country Club, which temporarily closed its doors for a few hours in July.

After the club found itself in a massive financial hole, it was shut down on July 21, but reopened the next morning.

A new seven-member committee was elected on Wednesday, with positions to be decided at a later date.

New committee member Dean Niekerk said a promising land deal was still on the cards.
