A man was shot and wounded after chasing down a suspected mugger in Uitenhage on Monday morning.
Police spokesperson Sergeant Majola Nkohli said a 28-year-old woman was attacked while walking in Rich Street, Uitenhage.
“A man gave chase and caught the attacker. During a tussle over her bag, a second suspect armed with a firearm shot and wounded the man.”
Police are investigating cases of robbery and attempted murder.
