Man stabbed in head

A Port Elizabeth man was stabbed in the head during a house robbery in Virgo Street, Bethelsdorp, at about 10pm on Tuesday.
Police spokesperson Captain Sandra Janse van Rensburg said the 35-year-old was watching TV when a robber kicked open his front door.
“He threatened the home owner with a knife and demanded he hand over valuables and the television,” she said.
“A scuffle ensued and the home owner was stabbed in the head.”
Janse van Rensburg said when the man’s son came out of his room, the intruder fled.
Within an hour of the robbery, a suspect was arrested walking in a nearby side street.
The 31-year-old suspect is due to appear in the Port Elizabeth Magistrate’s Court on Friday.
