More than half a ton of dagga, estimated to be worth about R667 000, was confiscated after police found it hidden in the back of a supermarket delivery truck that was leaving Port Elizabeth on the N2 at about 9:30pm last night.

The bust comes after a tip off that three suspects were off loading several massive bags of dagga from another truck near Brighton Beach car park.

Port Elizabeth police alerted Thornhill and Uitenhage police who set up temporary stop and search check points on the N2.
