Child drowns in Swartkops River

Rescue workers found the body of a child in the Swartkops River this afternoon following a search and rescue operation by Police Divers, Search and Rescue and Coastal Water Rescue.
According to authorities on the scene, six children went swimming in the river on Sunday (26/07/15) but only five made it back to the river bank.
The body of the child was retrieved from the water late on Sunday afternoon.
