Roland drinks to ‘safe’ water

UBER confident municipal spokesman Roland Williams backed up his words with action yesterday – when he gulped down several glasses of discoloured tap water to prove it was safe to drink.

With swish and swagger, he proved his point with visits to disgruntled Port Elizabeth residents who had voiced their disgust on social media.

Following reaction to The Herald’s front-page story on Nelson Mandela Bay’s water crisis yesterday, Williams – a big water drinker – immediately took to The Herald’s Facebook page and promised to be the guinea pig for anyone worried about the safety of their tap water.
