Anger at death hoax on presenter Mbixane

Umhlobo Wenene presenter Saba Mbixane is the latest celebrity to be killed off in a social media hoax.

Twitter and Facbook went into a frenzy at the weekend with people writing online condolence messages to the presenter’s family.

Mbixane was involved in a motorcycle accident just outside Mount Frere last week. But his uncle Dima Mbixane said the rumours of his death were untrue.

“This is a joke to some people but we are talking about someone’s life. Have they thought what this might do to Saba’s children? They have never even met with the family to confirm the rumours.”

He said the family was deeply hurt by the malicious gossip. “These people did not even go to the hospital to see if his bed was empty.”
