Ongoing tensions between the two popular hosts of Umhlobo Wenene’s Masigoduke afternoon drive show spilled over this week, with listeners jumping to the defence of the presenter they felt was constantly embarrassed on air.

Listeners jumped to Luyanda “Luks” Gidane’s aid after co-host Mothobeli “KCI” August “rudely and disrespectfully” dismissed a topic the former tried to raise about the difference between Facebook and Twitter users.

When Luks brought up the topic, KCI is said to have shut him off, saying he would not entertain it – sending listeners into a social media frenzy, accusing KCI of being mean to Luks on air.

Zoleka Maya wrote: “Umhlobo Wenene is not KCI’s house. He is there to work and he should stop being unprofessional. I no longer enjoy the things he is saying.”

Zola Mdzeke said KCI was not a team player. “He should adjust or face being unemployed like he was in 2007.”

Milisa Piko said she had gone back to listening to SAfm because of the tension.
