Woman, 25, believed killed for muti – but family claim revenge

A PORT Elizabeth woman, whose body was found in open veld next to the N2 yesterday, is believed to have fallen victim to muti killers.

Dorisha Bester, 25, of Sidwell, was stabbed several times and brutally mutilated.

Her partially naked body had been dumped in the veld just before the busy R75 offramp to Commercial Road, near Sidwell.

Police spokesman Warrant Officer Alwin Labans said “a muti killing is a real possibility”. But Bester’s family raised another possibility – a revenge killing.

Bester’s cousin, with whom the mother of five had been staying temporarily, said she had last seen her on Saturday afternoon.

“She said she was going to visit friends in Impala flats. And then today the police came here to tell me she is dead,” the woman, who did not want to be named, said.
