Volunteers going to dogs with spayathon

IN A bid to stem the over-breeding and suffering of dogs in the Alicedale district, a team of vets, field workers and volunteers will invade the town for a fourth annual "spayathon" this coming weekend.

The team has booked 63 sterilisations and will treat, deworm, dip and inoculate a further 250 animals on Saturday and Sunday.

Animal Anti-Cruelty League (AACL) representative Linda-Louise Swain said reports from the area had shown an impact was being made.
