Shame on you!

ANGRY parents and pupils shut the doors of a dangerously dilapidated Uitenhage high school yesterday, after authorities failed to deliver furniture to a newly renovated building they have been waiting to move into for months.

The frustrated parents and pupils have had enough of the collapsing Solomon Mahlangu High School prefab building and its broken furniture.

Their newly renovated school, meanwhile, stands vacant and unused, the desks and chairs gathering dust in a government warehouse.

The parents and pupils said yesterday they were shutting down the prefab structure in KwaNobuhle until education authorities delivered about 600 desks and chairs that were desperately needed for the renovated school. - Zandile Mbabela
