Better New Year for Cannon Rocks

ROB KNOWLES

BASED on feedback received by the Cannon Rocks Ratepayers Association from guests and residents it would seem the majority of the visitors and residents had a pleasant stay in Cannon Rocks over the holiday season.

So reported Cannon Rocks Ratepayers Association chairman Johnny Nortje to TotT this week.

Having recently hosted the second Kiteboarding Classic (January 5 to 7) which brought hundreds of visitors to the area, Cannon Rocks is also an idyllic holiday location for families as well as older visitors who appreciate the calm and quiet of unspoilt beaches.

Nortje said he would like to thank all those people who chose Cannon Rocks as their holiday destination of choice, and welcomed them to return next year.

He also wanted to thank the various organisations and individuals who went to making the 2011/2012 holiday season so successful.

"First, I would like to thanks the SAPS for setting up a temporary charge office in Cannon Rocks serving Cannon Rocks and Boknesstrand, as well as for its regular 24/7 patrols,” said Nortje.

"Next, thanks go to Ndlambe municipality for the regular removal of refuse from the transfer refuse site, which was a vast improvement compared to the previous year.

"Finally thanks go to SANParks for the clearing of the hiking trail from Cannon Rocks into the Addo elephant park.”
