AN angry mob demanding "jobs not food" marred what should have been a day of celebration as the long-awaited multimillion-rand Helenvale Resource Centre opened in Port Elizabeth yesterday.
The group of about 100, accompanied by small business owners affiliated to the Nelson Mandela Bay Proactive Business Front, tried to storm the launch proceedings.
They expressed dissatisfaction with the Mandela Bay Development Agency (MBDA), saying it did not deliver on jobs for contractors.
