Wilson B Nkosi turns on charm

GOING out these days is such a mission! It's freezing – but we can't let winter keep us tucked in bed now can we? Last Saturday my first stop was Bulelwa Maneli's 50th birthday.

Gosh! That woman doesn't look a day older than 30. How is she doing it?

The dress code was suppose to have a touch of leopard print but there were only a few people who stuck to the game-plan, as it were!

Anyway, although it started three hours late followed by a lot of speeches from friends and relatives, I must say, the birthday girl surely still knows how to shake what her mamma gave her. But your Skinnerbek could not stay with the oldies forever, so my next stop was at the Little Theatre where Metro FM's Wilson B Nkosi was performing. Wow! His voice made me warm in this winter weather and I really would not mind having him perform a poem or two at my place. Wilson had the ladies singing like divas and I liked it when he gave patrons the opportunity to request their favourite songs. He actually took me back to the time when I first fell in love!

Expensive whisky was flowing and the ladies came dressed to the nines. Wilson B rocked in a grey sweater and a black basketball peak cap and, ooh! ... he is such a charmer!

The MVP DJs Chrisbeats, Warrinho and Luzuko also supported the event which was organised by another MVP DJ, Ayas, wearing a black and white check T-shirt. After Wilson B's performance, the MVPs took over and ooh boy, did they set the dance floor on fire! Ladies started taking off their coats revealing mini-dresses that blurted out: "Who says you can't look sexy in winter?"

Talking about glitz and glamour, I made my way down to Uitenhage on Saturday for the Miss Inter High charity event, and all the ladies looked wonderful; they really represented their schools and the community showed great support.

On Sunday, all roads led to the Boardwalk for the 99% Xhosa Comedy show which was a huge success.

It was good to see the venue so full that there was not even space to move. For a change, PE peeps went out of their way to support the comedy gang! Ciao for now. - SKINNERBEK
