Bye-bye Januworry – time to party

OUR social lives and night lives should be almost back to normal since the lean weeks of "Januworry" are almost over.

That means you, boys and girls, can finally get out there and party the night away with your Skinnerbek.

On Saturday yours truly waltzed her sexy behind to the Port Elizabeth Opera House for jazz maestro Feya Faku's concert. Wow, the house was full of oldies who decided to rock without their better halves.

It was refreshing to see Moki Cekisani who is the chairman of Ubuntu Environmental Trust project out and about. He was in a jovial mood and ooh boy, I felt sorry for the people he was chatting with, as he was louder than the speakers in the Opera House.

I bumped into jazz singer Asanda Bam who looked angelic in an all-white outfit. Bam, who was in the company of music promoter Sonwabiso Nompunga, shared she is still enjoying being at home on holiday, but would head back to Jozi soon.

Back to the show, those oldies had a great time and I am sure they were reminiscing about the good old days.

Faku, who was wearing a sleek black outfit, did not disappoint and gave a fine performance. He was later joined on stage by Dudley Tito and Pat Phasha – true legends of jazz music.

Singer Asanda Mqiki sported her trademark hairstyle and she was with her partner Lelethu Mahembahlala who rocked in denim shorts.

KQ FM's Percy Lamani was the MC for the night and he decided also to use the opportunity to market his weekend jazz show on radio every Sunday.
