Christmas concert in aid of Elim Home

PE's Arcadia Moravian Church choir will sing

The Arcadia Moravian Church choir presents a Christmas concert in aid of the Elim Home at the church in Esterhuizen Street at 3pm on Monday, December 17.
The Elim Home is in the historical but impoverished rural town of Elim about some 200km from the city of Cape Town. Founded in 1963 by the Moravian Church of South Africa, it cares for the most severely intellectually and physically disabled children and young adults from disadvantaged communities.
Although the home is in the Western Cape residents come from as far afield as Upington, Pofadder, Port Elizabeth and George.
The guest artists on Monday afternoon include mezzo soprano Terry-Ann Jullies, alto Noline Kommas and baritone Andy Matima who will sing a wide variety of songs, including The Christmas Song, White Christmas and O Holy Night.
The church choir will sing a variety of Christmas carols.
Curtleigh Koopman, Hurbert Jacobs and Devandré Boonzaaier will play Christmas music on the trumpet, saxophone and organ and the church brass band will also take part.
The Arcadia Moravian Spiritual Dancers will be joined by Jenny Johaar and Nicole Mitchell.
Although the concert is a fundraiser for the home, there is no admission fee and no advance booking.
The concert will last approximately 75 minutes.
