World Cup humdingers still head list

THE Cricket World Cup continues to hog the headlines and the Proteas will be hoping to quieten their social media antagonists when they clash with the West Indies in Sydney today.

By the time most of us have shaken the sleep from our eyes and stumbled towards that first cup of coffee, play will be under way in Australia, with the transmission kicking off at 4.30am on SS2.

If the Windies bat first, SA fans will be hoping they do not see the Gayle Force doing his thing.

It is not quite make or break for AB’s men, but another loss will have them firmly under the social media heater.

Even if some think the World Cup drags on too long, there are two blockbusters to anticipate this weekend – none more so than the Aussies against New Zealand in New Zealand tomorrow (2.45am on SS2).

Long considered the poor cousins in cricketing terms, this NZ side are bristling with determination and their co-hosts will be fully tested.
